Below the vignettes, a caption text in German script narrates the donkey episode, followed by the place and date 'Bielefeld, 15. Juli 1921' and the payment order text 'zahle gegen diese Platzanweisung aus unserem Guthaben an Überbringer der Magistrat', with a manuscript signature below and a large alphanumeric serial number at right.
