| Reverse description | Two confronted birds, likely eagles or peacocks, stand on either side of a stylized palm or laurel tree at center, the whole composition set above the value mark XX in the exergue. The design is enclosed within a beaded border, and the tree motif flanked by birds is a distinctive decorative device found on Ostrogothic Roman civic bronze issues of the early sixth century. The overall arrangement is symmetrical and emblematic in character, reflecting the continuity of classical iconographic traditions under Ostrogothic administration. |
