Obverse description A nude male figure, rendered in fine archaic style, is depicted in a kneeling or squatting pose facing right, his muscular body shown in three-quarter view. The figure extends one arm forward, possibly holding a small object, while the other arm rests at the side. The design is executed in high relief against an irregular, plain field with no surrounding legend. The artistic treatment reflects the influence of early Greek coinage on the indigenous Sindi coinage of the northern Black Sea region.
