In her extended right hand she holds a herm of Dionysos, the divine patron of the city, while her left hand bears a patera in a gesture of libation or veneration. The throne is depicted with elaborately rendered legs, and a partial groundline is visible beneath the composition. The encircling Greek legend, naming the strategos Aurelius Prosdektos with his honorific epithet, runs around the periphery of the reverse field, with additional text in the lower exergual area. |
