备注

Stecklenberg is a village in the Harz district of Saxony-Anhalt, and its decision to issue Notgeld in 1921 was entirely practical — chronic coin shortages following the First World War left small municipalities scrambling to facilitate everyday local commerce. The Gemeinde had neither a bank nor significant industry behind it, just a local administrative stamp and whoever Weißenborn was, signing on behalf of the parish council.

The series running through 1927 is notably late. Most municipal Notgeld had been withdrawn and demonetized well before that point, as Rentenmark stabilization in late 1923 restored functioning national currency. A 50 Pfennig note circulating into 1927 from a village this size warrants scrutiny — whether it remained legally current or simply stayed in local use by habit is an open question the issuing records don't cleanly resolve.
