| 背面描述 | Unadorned reverse printed in black letterpress within a single double-rule border, carrying a four-line patriotic verse in roman type evoking the Danube region and the Nibelung legend, attributed below to the local printer. The obverse design shows through the thin paper as a ghost image in the background. |

Pupping is a small parish municipality in Upper Austria, and like hundreds of similarly sized communities, it issued Notgeld during the postwar currency crisis when small-denomination coins had effectively disappeared from circulation. The Karl Lanz print shop in nearby Eferding supplied many of these local emergency issues across the district, which accounts for the family resemblance between several Eferding-area notes of this period.
The JPR reference places this squarely within the Jaksch catalog of Austrian municipal Notgeld — a series where rarity is often hyperlocal, tied entirely to how many pieces a given village needed and how many survived outside collector albums.
