| Opis awersu | Central vignette presents the Muhammad Ali Mosque (Alabaster Mosque) situated within the Citadel of Cairo, rendered in fine intaglio line work with its distinctive Ottoman silhouette, twin minarets, and large central dome. The mosque, commissioned between 1830 and 1848 by Muhammad Ali Pasha in memory of his son Tusun Pasha, is set against a guilloche underprint in muted tones. Arabic inscriptions and the denomination appear alongside the Central Bank of Egypt title. |
