Reverse description The large numeral '2' dominates the central field in bold relief with horizontal line engraving, with the word PENCE inscribed in smaller lettering directly below. The word MUNTSPROEVE (meaning 'coin pattern' or 'pattern strike' in Dutch) appears in small capitals beneath PENCE, serving as the official pattern designation. The date 1874 is prominently displayed at the bottom of the field. The motto EENDRAGT - MAAKT - MAGT ('Unity Makes Strength') arcs around the upper periphery, separated by dashes, while a honeybee device and a small lion's head device flank the lower portion of the inner pearled border. The whole design is enclosed within a raised pearled border with a milled outer rim.
