The circular legend 'REPUBLIQUE DU BURKINA FASO' arcs around the upper field, while the denomination '1000 FRANCS CFA' is inscribed below the arms. The date '2017' appears in a recessed rectangular cartouche at lower left, and the fineness mark '1 OZ AG .999' is similarly positioned at lower right. The BCEAO has issued novelty bullion pieces under the CFA franc denomination since the mid-2010s, licensing pop-culture and historical curiosity themes — UFOs, famous mysteries, conspiracy touchstones — for collector markets in Europe and North America. The Roswell incident itself, the 1947 crash near Roswell, New Mexico, generated its mythology largely through a 1978 book by Stanton Friedman rather than any contemporaneous public hysteria.
