Beschrijving voorzijde The national coat of arms of Barbados occupies the central field, featuring a quartered shield bearing a fig tree and two pride-of-Barbados flowers, supported on the dexter by a dolphin and on the sinister by a pelican. Above the shield rests a beehive helmet with a hand grasping two crossed sugar cane stalks as the crest. A scroll beneath the shield bears the national motto PRIDE AND INDUSTRY in two sections. The date 1984 is divided across the field to either side of the arms, each numeral flanked by a trident symbol, while the legend BARBADOS curves prominently along the lower periphery. The inscription 500/1000 FINE GOLD appears in small lettering below the motto scroll, and the entire design is enclosed within a beaded border.

Beschrijving keerzijde The reverse depicts a dynamic high-relief rendering of Triton, the Greek sea deity, shown as a muscular bearded figure with a fish-tail lower body, riding upon a large coiling sea creature or ketos in the central field. Triton is portrayed in a vigorous pose, his upper body turned and arms outstretched as he grasps a conch shell horn and a trident, conveying power and maritime dominion. The scales and fins of both figures are rendered with fine detail against the deeply mirrored proof field. The curved legend ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS arcs across the upper portion of the coin within a beaded border.
