Reverse description Central field displays a multi-line Arabic Kufic inscription arranged in horizontal registers within a dotted inner circle, naming the Abbasid caliph al-Ta'i' li-llah, the Buyid ruler Samsam al-Dawla, and his father's laqab 'Adud al-Dawla, together with the Prophetic mission formula. A marginal legend running along the outer border bears the Quranic verse of the mission of the Prophet (Quran 9:33), separated from the central area by a dotted annulus. The flan is irregularly shaped with uneven edges, consistent with hand-hammered Buyid silver coinage of the period.
