| Beschrijving voorzijde | A Tudor rose in full bloom occupies the central field, its petals rendered in high relief and surrounding the circular central hole. Surmounting the rose at the top is an imperial crown, adding a regal focal point to the design. The circumferential legend GEORGE VI KING EMPEROR runs around the periphery in raised Latin lettering, separated from the inner design by a raised circular border. The entire coin is bounded by a fine milled border of beads. The design, attributed to engraver Derwent Wood, combines heraldic symbolism with clean, functional aesthetics suited to a holed circulation coin. |
