The figure is rendered in the Byzantine hieratic style characteristic of late 12th-century scyphate coinage, with drapery folds indicated by incuse lines. The design is a provincial imitation of Byzantine prototypes, exhibiting the simplified, somewhat crude workmanship typical of Bulgarian imitative trachea. | Opis rewersu | A standing imperial figure facing, depicted in full-length frontal pose, holding a globus cruciger in one hand, closely imitating the reverse type of Byzantine Emperor Isaac II Angelos (1185–1195). The imperial regalia and costume are rendered in a simplified manner, reflecting the imitative nature of Bulgarian trachea of this period.
