| Obverse description | Youthful head of Dionysos facing right, crowned with an elaborate ivy and grape-cluster wreath, with locks of wavy hair falling to the neck. The modeling is of fine Hellenistic style, with softly rendered facial features and a serene, idealized expression. The wreath is richly detailed, displaying individual berries and ivy leaves in high relief. The field is smooth and unlettered, with the portrait positioned centrally on the flan. |

| Reverse description | Dionysos depicted standing to the left in a relaxed contrapposto stance, holding a bunch of grapes extended in his raised right hand, with a thyrsos or vine-staff in his left. Two monograms appear in the lower field, one to the left and one to the right of the deity's feet, serving as magistrate or mint-control marks. The ethnic legend ΔΙΟΝΥΣΟΥ ΣΩΤΗΡΟΣ ΜΑΡΩΝΙΤΩΝ encircles the design, identifying the coin as issued in honor of Dionysos Soter by the Maronites.
