| Obverse description | Two nude wrestlers depicted in vigorous combat, facing one another in the centre of the field, each grasping the other's arms in a dynamic composition rendered in high relief. Both figures wear wreaths or fillets upon their heads. The Greek letters BA appear in the lower central field between the wrestlers' legs, likely a magistrate's or engraver's abbreviation. The entire design is enclosed within a beaded border, and the figures are set upon a ground line, reflecting the accomplished die-engraving tradition of Pisidian coinage. |
