Reverse description Archaistic cult image of Pallas Athena (Palladion) depicted standing facing in rigid, hieratic posture, raising a spear aloft in her extended right hand in a thrusting or striking attitude, and bearing on her left arm a round shield decorated with a four-pointed star device and a fillet suspended below. A crested Corinthian helmet is placed to the lower left of the figure. The entire design is enclosed within a deep cupped circular incuse, a hallmark of the early Philip II and Pergamene gold stater series. No legend appears on this issue.
