| Opis rewersu | A bold cross pattée divides the reverse field into four quarters, each containing heraldic charges: the upper quarters display alternating fleurs-de-lis and dolphins, emblems of France and the Dauphiné respectively, while the lower quarters continue this arrangement. The arms of the cross terminate near the inner circle, beyond which a beaded or rope border frames the surrounding legend. The circular inscription in uncial Latin characters reads SIT NOMEN DNI BENEDICTV, a devotional phrase meaning 'Blessed be the name of the Lord,' commonly employed on French royal billon issues of the period. The hammered execution results in a slightly irregular flan, typical of coins of this denomination and era. |
