Sizain of Dauphine - Louis XII

The Dauphiné maintained its own distinct coinage well after its absorption into the French royal domain in 1349, and Louis XII continued issuing regional types through Grenoble and Crémieu that differed meaningfully from central royal production. The sizain — worth six deniers — occupied an awkward middle denomination that saw heavy day-to-day use in local markets, which is why survivors in any respectable condition are genuinely difficult to find.
