| Beschrijving keerzijde | Standing winged figure of Victory facing left, rendered in the late antique tradition with broad spread wings and flowing robes. She holds a long jewelled cross or staff in her left hand and a globus cruciger in her right, with a star visible in the right field. The figure is set on a ground line above the exergual inscription COMOB, the standard Byzantine mint mark denoting gold of Constantinople quality. The surrounding legend VICTORIΛ ΛVCCCΛ is distributed around the periphery in characteristically barbarous Frankish letterforms, and a beaded border frames the entire composition. |
