Reverse description An eagle displayed with wings spread wide, shown in flight and ascending, with head turned to the left. A Heraklean club appears in the lower left field as a secondary symbol. The ethnic inscription ΛΑΡΙΣΑΙΩΝ is divided by the figure of the eagle, with one portion to each side, identifying the issuing authority of Larissa Phrikonis in Thessaly. The overall composition is typical of regional bronze and silver coinage from Thessalian communities during the Hellenistic period.
