Kamarina's final coinage. The city was destroyed by Carthage in 405 BC following the catastrophic Sicilian campaigns, and this litra belongs to the last civic emissions before that erasure — struck while Hannibal Mago's forces were methodically eliminating Greek Sicily's western settlements. Kamarina had already been destroyed once, by Syracuse in 552 BC, resettled, destroyed again, resettled again. The Carthaginian sack of 405 proved permanent.
