Obverse description Facing left, the youthful female head of the nymph Kamarina, her hair elaborately dressed and bound in a sphendone, rendered in fine Sicilian relief. The portrait displays the characteristic high artistic quality associated with the Kamarina mint of the late fifth century BC. A beaded border frames the type within the irregularly shaped flan.

Reverse description A swan, wings fully spread in a heraldic display, moves to the left atop a stylised wave pattern rendered as a series of scrolling curves, evoking the marshy lake environment sacred to the city of Kamarina. Beneath the swan, a small fish swims to the left, reinforcing the aquatic symbolism emblematic of this mint. The composition fills the flan without inscription, enclosed by a partial beaded border.
