| Obverse description | Laureate head of Zeus facing right, rendered in the robust Hellenistic style characteristic of Stratonikeia's civic coinage. The hair is depicted in thick, deeply engraved curls bunched at the nape of the neck, and the laurel wreath is visible crowning the brow. The facial features, though worn, convey the majestic and powerful divine character typical of Zeus portraiture in the second and first centuries BC. The flan is irregular and slightly dumpy, consistent with hand-struck provincial silver of this period. |
