| Opis rewersu | A long cross pattée extends to the inner reeded circle, dividing the reverse field into four quarters and interrupting the circular legend. The legend in uncial Latin script reads CIVITAS, denoting the city, and is separated by pellet stops. In the lower portion of the design, a small heraldic shield of Villanders — the arms of Engelmar, podestà of Padua — appears flanked symmetrically by trefoil ornaments, serving as a distinctive identifying mark of this issue. The cross pattée and heraldic elements are typical of northern Italian communal coinage of the early fourteenth century. |
