The portrait fills the flan with bold relief, the facial features — including an aquiline nose and slightly parted lips — conveying the divine solar deity's idealized beauty. The coin's irregular flan edge is characteristic of the plintophoric series struck at Rhodes during the late second and early first centuries BC. |

Above the rose, the Greek legend names the magistrate Nikephoros, while to the lower right a hand grasps a grain ear, serving as an additional control symbol. The composition follows the canonical reverse type of Rhodian drachms throughout the plintophoric series, combining civic emblems with magistrate identification. |
