| Obverse description | Facing three-quarter right, the youthful radiate head of Helios is rendered in fine Hellenistic style, with wavy hair swept back and seven or more rays emanating from the crown. The portrait fills the flan with bold relief, the facial features — including an aquiline nose and slightly parted lips — conveying the divine solar deity's idealized beauty. The coin's irregular flan edge is characteristic of the plintophoric series struck at Rhodes during the late second and early first centuries BC. |

| Reverse description | Within a shallow incuse square — the defining feature of the Rhodian plintophoric coinage — a fully open rose with stem is depicted facing, accompanied by a budding secondary bloom to the right. Above the rose, the Greek legend names the magistrate Nikephoros, while to the lower right a hand grasps a grain ear, serving as an additional control symbol. The composition follows the canonical reverse type of Rhodian drachms throughout the plintophoric series, combining civic emblems with magistrate identification. |
