| Descrizione del dritto | Degraded bust of the Sasanian king Peroz I facing right, rendered in a barbarous imitative style characteristic of Hephthalite coinage. The effigy retains the general outline of the royal crown with a crest or flame finial at the apex, though the facial features and headdress details are schematically rendered and partially blundered. Four pellets are distributed in the field around the bust, serving as the diagnostic distinguishing marks of this emission type. The entire design is enclosed within a beaded inner circle, itself set within a plain outer border, consistent with the Sasanian prototypes these imitations sought to reproduce. |
