| Obverse description | Helmeted head of Athena in right profile, rendered in fine Hellenistic style. The goddess wears a crested Attic helmet adorned with a prominent eight-pointed star on the bowl, a characteristic civic badge of Pergamon. Her hair falls in a braided plait behind the neck, and the cheekpiece of the helmet frames her idealized facial features. The portrait is boldly modelled in high relief against a smooth field. |
