Reverse description A stylized fire altar occupies the central field, depicted in the Sasanian-derived tradition with a stepped or tiered pedestal surmounted by a flame. The altar design is schematically rendered, consistent with the debased late Alchon coinage of this period. The overall composition is heavily worn and struck on an irregular flan, with additional design elements largely indistinct due to the condition of the flan and the debasement of the billon alloy.
