The legend LEIBERTAS is inscribed before the bust and C·CASSI·IMP behind, identifying the imperator Gaius Cassius Longinus as issuing authority. The archaic spelling 'LEIBERTAS' is a deliberate affectation of Republican orthography, invoking the ideal of freedom that underpinned the Liberators' cause. The design is enclosed by a neat border of raised dots. |

| Descripción del reverso | In the central field, a sacrificial jug (urceus) is depicted to the left and a lituus (augural staff) to the right, both rendered in crisp, high relief against a plain field; these implements evoke priestly and augural authority. The legend LENTVLVS is inscribed in the lower field and SPINT below, abbreviating the name of Publius Cornelius Lentulus Spinther, the moneyer responsible for the issue. The composition is spare and boldly conceived, consistent with the military mint coinage struck in the eastern provinces during the Liberators' campaign. The whole is enclosed within a prominent border of raised dots. |
