The obverse legend ΦΟΥΡ ΤΡΑΝΚΥΛΛΙΝΑ ϹΑΒ encircles the bust, identifying the subject as Furia Tranquillina Augusta, wife of Gordian III. The portrait is rendered in the provincial Greek style typical of the Pergamene conventus, with bold, high-relief modelling of the facial features. |

The encircling legend ΕΠΙ ΑΙΛ ΑΡΙϹΤΟΝΕΙΚΟΥ ΓΕΡΜΗΝΩΝ identifies the civic magistrate Aelius Aristonikos and the issuing city of Germe in Mysia. |
