At his feet crouches a panther, the animal sacred to Dionysus, rendered in profile. The encircling legend ΕΠΙ ΑΙΛ ΑΡΙϹΤΟΝΕΙΚΟΥ ΓΕΡΜΗΝΩΝ identifies the civic magistrate Aelius Aristonikos and the issuing city of Germe in Mysia. |
