| Beschrijving voorzijde | Draped bust of Furia Tranquillina Augusta facing right, her hair elaborately waved and drawn back in a characteristic Severan-era coiffure secured with a diadem. The empress is depicted with a steppd necklace visible at the base of the throat, and her garment is rendered with finely incised drapery folds across the shoulder and chest. The obverse legend ΦΟΥΡ ΤΡΑΝΚΥΛΛΙΝΑ ϹΑΒ encircles the bust, identifying the subject as Furia Tranquillina Augusta, wife of Gordian III. The portrait is rendered in the provincial Greek style typical of the Pergamene conventus, with bold, high-relief modelling of the facial features. |

| Beschrijving keerzijde | Dionysus, god of wine, stands in a relaxed contrapposto pose facing left, his weight shifted onto his right leg. In his raised right hand he holds a cantharus, the deep wine cup associated with his cult, while his left hand grasps a long thyrsus, the fennel-staff wreathed with ivy and topped with a pine cone that serves as his divine emblem. At his feet crouches a panther, the animal sacred to Dionysus, rendered in profile. The encircling legend ΕΠΙ ΑΙΛ ΑΡΙϹΤΟΝΕΙΚΟΥ ΓΕΡΜΗΝΩΝ identifies the civic magistrate Aelius Aristonikos and the issuing city of Germe in Mysia. |
