The attribution "uncertain Pontian city" reflects a genuine cataloging problem rather than scholarly laziness — Pontos in this period hosted several semi-autonomous coastal poleis whose bronze civic issues are nearly impossible to disentangle without mint marks or explicit ethnic legends. The references here cluster around the Black Sea corpus, which itself acknowledges the ambiguity.
HGC 7, 313 places this type within a grouping that some specialists have tentatively assigned to Amisos, though that remains contested.
