The design reflects the Angevin dynastic emblem, combining the initial of Charles I with the Capetian heraldic lily. The outer border features additional fleurs-de-lis alternating around the periphery of the flan. The coin is struck on an irregularly shaped hammered flan, consistent with medieval Sicilian minting practice. The legend SERVVS XRI (Servant of Christ) accompanies the design. |

| Описание реверса | Within a raised inner circle, a tall Latin cross with flared terminals dominates the central field, its long shaft extending toward the lower border. In the four quadrants formed by the arms of the cross appear the Greek Christogram letters IC XC (Iesus Christus), rendered in a style consistent with Byzantine-influenced Sicilian coinage. The surrounding field is punctuated by pellets or small globules arranged symmetrically. The outer border is defined by a beaded or dotted circle, and the entire design is executed on a hammered irregular flan. The legend IE XS relates to the abbreviated Christological inscription. |
