| Opis rewersu | Within a raised inner circle, a tall Latin cross with flared terminals dominates the central field, its long shaft extending toward the lower border. In the four quadrants formed by the arms of the cross appear the Greek Christogram letters IC XC (Iesus Christus), rendered in a style consistent with Byzantine-influenced Sicilian coinage. The surrounding field is punctuated by pellets or small globules arranged symmetrically. The outer border is defined by a beaded or dotted circle, and the entire design is executed on a hammered irregular flan. The legend IE XS relates to the abbreviated Christological inscription. |
