Oktober 1922", the legend "Der Oberbürgermeister:", a red serial number, and a manuscript signature, all set within a fine lace-pattern border. |

The city name "Duisburg" appears in bold blackletter at the top centre and "am Rhein" at the bottom, flanking the central motif. Two large circular guilloche rosettes carrying the numeral "5000" occupy the left and right fields, with elaborate acanthus scrollwork filling the corners, and a further decorative guilloche strip with "5000" runs along the right stub margin. |
