The left margin carries a vertical guilloche strip of rosette ornaments with the denomination numeral, while the central text panel contains the issuing authority's redemption clause in Gothic script, the place and date "Duisburg, den 15. | Descripción del reverso | The reverse is printed in a single dark blue-green tone on cream paper and is symmetrically composed around a central vignette of a crossed anchor and boat-hook — emblems of Duisburg's Rhine river port — set against a fine letterpress text underprint. The city name "Duisburg" appears in bold blackletter at the top centre and "am Rhein" at the bottom, flanking the central motif. Two large circular guilloche rosettes carrying the numeral "5000" occupy the left and right fields, with elaborate acanthus scrollwork filling the corners, and a further decorative guilloche strip with "5000" runs along the right stub margin. |
