Beschrijving keerzijde Salmon-red reverse printed in black, with a matching scalloped arch border. A large vignette of the Doberaner Münster (the historic Cistercian minster church) occupies the lower two-thirds, rendered in fine hatched line engraving style with surrounding shrubbery. The denomination '50' appears in bold numerals at the upper centre, with 'PF' to the left, beneath the arched inscription 'DOBERANER REUTERGELD' running along the top of the border.

Opmerkingen

Bad Doberan's Notgeld issues belong to the inflationary emergency currency wave that swept German municipalities between 1918 and 1922, when the Reichsbank could not supply sufficient small-denomination coinage and towns printed their own scrip to keep local commerce moving. The Stadt series was a practical stopgap, not a collectors' issue — though many of these municipal notes were in fact saved unused, which complicates any attempt to judge genuine circulation wear versus warehouse storage.

Bad Doberan itself is a small Mecklenburg spa town, and some issues from the area leaned into regional imagery to encourage locals to retain the notes as souvenirs rather than redeem them — a deliberate strategy by cash-strapped municipalities to reduce the actual redemption burden.
