Obverse description Grey-toned notgeld on paper with an overall fine guilloche underprint framed by an arrow-and-dash border. A central rectangular vignette, set within a floral cartouche and flanked by sprays of stylised foliage, presents a landscape view of a snow-capped mountain peak — likely the Gesäuse massif of Upper Styria — with cattle in the foreground. At the top, the denomination numeral '50' appears in red within a circular medallion surmounted by crossed hunting horns and flanked by ribbon scrolls bearing the inscription 'Heller' in red Fraktur script; denomination panels reading '50 / fünfzig / Heller' are repeated in the lower-left and lower-right corners. Below the central vignette, the issuing authority is printed in red Fraktur script: 'Gutschein der Gemeinde Aigen / Ober Steiermark'.

Reverse description Plain cream-coloured paper with a single dashed-line rectangular border enclosing all text. The header panel, subdivided into three sections by vertical rules, carries the denomination '50 Heller' at left and right and the issuer title 'Gutschein der Gemeinde Aigen / Ober-Steiermark' at centre in black Fraktur type. Below a dividing rule, a four-line Styrian dialect verse in Fraktur script reads: 'Da Hoamat, da liabn, / Schlogt mei Herz stets recht woarm, / Wer koa Hoamatliab hot, / Is sei Leben long oarm.' A legal redemption clause in bold black type states that the Gemeinde Aigen (Ober-Steiermark) guarantees redemption in lawful currency four weeks after announcement, per municipal council resolution of 17 July 1920, followed by the printed caption 'Der Bürgermeister:' and a manuscript signature.
