Obverse description The national emblem of Oman occupies the central field, depicting two crossed khanjar daggers overlaid with a sword, surmounted by a royal crown. The legend سلطنة عمان (Sultanate of Oman) appears divided to the upper left and right of the emblem, with the dual date ١٤١١هـ / ١٩٩٠م (AH 1411 / AD 1990) flanking the emblem at centre. The denomination ٥٠ بيسة (50 Baisa) is inscribed below the emblem, and the issuer legend البنك المركزي العماني (Central Bank of Oman) runs along the lower portion of the field. The design is framed by a decorative dashed border running along the inner edge of the coin.
