The surrounding legend reads DEUTSCHES REICH FUNF REICHSMARK, arranged along the upper and left periphery, with a beaded border encircling the entire design. The artistic execution reflects the medallic relief style characteristic of Karl Goetz. |

The mint mark D is positioned to the left of the portrait, and the engraver's signature K. GOETZ is incused near the truncation. A beaded border frames the design. |
