The lower shield is quartered and depicts various heraldic animals including a bull and a stag, referencing Hindenburg family armorial bearings. The surrounding legend reads DEUTSCHES REICH FUNF REICHSMARK, arranged along the upper and left periphery, with a beaded border encircling the entire design. The artistic execution reflects the medallic relief style characteristic of Karl Goetz. |

The curved legend REICHSPRÄSIDENT VON HINDENBURG arcs across the upper field. The birth and commemorative years 1847-1927 appear in the lower field. The mint mark D is positioned to the left of the portrait, and the engraver's signature K. GOETZ is incused near the truncation. A beaded border frames the design. |
