| Beschrijving voorzijde | Central field dominated by the elaborate calligraphic tughra of Sultan Mahmud II, rendered in the traditional Ottoman imperial monogram style with sweeping upward strokes (tuğ) rising from an oval loop (beyze) and interlaced horizontal arms (zülfe). The tughra occupies the majority of the flan and serves as the primary design element, executed in raised relief against a plain field. The surrounding legend, in Arabic script, reads the sultan's epithets and titles encircling the device. The overall composition is characteristic of early nineteenth-century Ottoman provincial coinage, with the tughra slightly smaller in the KM#168.1 variety. |

| Beschrijving keerzijde | The reverse features a central Arabic calligraphic inscription arranged in three registers within a plain field. The upper register bears the regnal year in Eastern Arabic numerals (٢٩), the middle register carries the mint name in Arabic script (ضرب في مصر, meaning 'struck in Egypt'), and the lower register displays the Hijri accession year (١٢٢٣). The legends are boldly struck in raised relief, typical of Cairo Mint production of this period. The KM#168.2 variety is distinguished by a larger tughra and legend compared to KM#168.1. |
