| Beschrijving keerzijde | The reverse features a colorized central composition depicting two 'sourvakari' — traditionally dressed young boys participating in the Bulgarian New Year folk custom of going from house to house to bestow health and prosperity wishes. The figures are rendered in vibrant applied color against a plain field. Encircling the design along the periphery is a Cyrillic inscription bearing the traditional New Year benediction 'СУРВА, ВЕСЕЛА ГОДИНА – ЖИВИ, ЗДРАВИ ДО АМИНА', which translates as a wish for a happy year and good health. |

Issued to mark the Sourvakari tradition, a Bulgarian New Year ritual in which young men called sourvakari tap family members with decorated cornel-wood branches to bestow health and prosperity. The practice is rooted in pre-Christian folk custom and remains genuinely observed in rural Bulgaria, not merely commemorated from a safe cultural distance.
