| 背面描述 | The entire reverse field is dominated by a large, finely engraved radiant sun with alternating long and short rays extending nearly to the milled border. At the centre of the sun disc, the Christogram IHS is inscribed within a small circular medallion. The date 1771 appears in inverted orientation at the lower portion of the field, flanked by two small rosette stops. The Genevan Reformation motto POST TENEBRAS LUX runs as a circular legend around the periphery, accompanied by the repeated Christogram IHS and asterisk separators. |

Geneva's pistole coinage was denominated to align with the French louis d'or system, reflecting the city-republic's deep commercial entanglement with France despite its formal independence. The 3 pistoles was among the larger gold strikes Geneva produced in the eighteenth century, issued in limited quantities for merchant transactions rather than everyday exchange.
KM#84 is scarce in any grade. Geneva's mint output was modest by design — the Council of Two Hundred kept production tightly controlled.
