Rwanda's 2007 series was the first full redesign since the post-genocide monetary reconstruction of the mid-1990s, when the National Bank had to replace a currency stock that had been looted, destroyed, and counterfeited on a significant scale during and after 1994. Giesecke & Devrient, who had printed Rwandan notes through much of that difficult transition period, retained the contract here.

The "Printed: 30.04.1945" date in the source data is clearly erroneous — almost certainly a cataloging artifact — and should not be taken as a literal production date.
