Obverse description Uncrowned right-facing effigy of King Charles III, depicted in a mature and dignified portrait with a suit and tie visible at the truncation. The king's likeness is rendered in high relief against a polished mirror field. The legend CHARLES III curves along the left rim, while D.G.REX arcs along the upper right. A small engraver's initial mark appears at the lower right of the portrait. The overall style is classical and restrained, befitting a modern Commonwealth gold issue.
