Beschrijving keerzijde The large numeral '20' is prominently displayed in the upper field, below which the Cyrillic denomination ТИЙИН is inscribed across the centre. Two symmetrical sprays of cotton bolls and leaves flank the denomination, forming an open wreath that frames the central legends. A small ornamental separator divides the denomination from the date, with the four-digit date 1994 appearing in the lower field. The overall composition is contained within a raised rim.

Aanvullende informatie

The tiyin denominations of 1994 were Uzbekistan's first independent coinage, issued just three years after the Soviet collapse. The 20 tiyin was part of a series intended to support the som, introduced that same year to replace the Russian ruble — itself already a replacement for Soviet currency that Uzbekistan had briefly continued using after 1991. Chronic inflation quickly rendered these small denominations functionally worthless in circulation, and most saw little actual use before being abandoned.
