The mint signature ºΠ∕ (for Theopolis/Antioch) appears in the lower field or exergue, accompanied by the regnal year inscription ANNO XXII (year 22 of Justinian's reign), though the specific year varies by issue across this series. The reverse legend is distributed around the field, and the entire design is contained within a beaded border on the irregular hammered flan. |
